Expert group for the 2013 revision of the code, Official Bulletin 6206 of 21 November 2013. Determination of design velocities and accelerations for all 1,503 Moroccan municipalities, integrated into structural analysis and design software. Agreement 59/05 between the Ministry of Housing and Mohammed V University.

National project lead for UNDP and the Directorate for Risk Monitoring and Prevention. National report on the 1994-2004 decade of natural and technological disasters, presented at the second UN World Conference on Disaster Reduction, Kobe, January 2005.

National scientific working group on Morocco's national disaster risk management strategy, coordinated by the Government's Directorate of Economic and General Affairs and funded by the World Bank.

Expert group of the European CAMP project, Mediterranean Coastal Area Management Programme. Lead author of the sustainability analysis of the central Rif Mediterranean coastal zone, funded by UNEP for the Moroccan Department of the Environment.

Expert for the French Research Institute for Development (IRD), research programmes and training in the Global South.

Lead expert for ISESCO on the strategy for reducing natural and man-made disaster risk across North Africa, the Middle East and Indonesia.

Project lead for seismic and satellite tsunami early-warning networks on Morocco's Atlantic and Mediterranean coasts, presented at the Third International Conference on Early Warning, Bonn, March 2006.

Member of UNESCO-IUGS-IGCP project 457 on seismic hazard and risk assessment in North Africa. Member of the North African Seismological Group.

Scientific lead on two reference maps, still used as baseline documents for seismic hazard across the Maghreb.

National expert and scientific lead at LPEE for the first seismotectonic and seismic hazard map of the Maghreb at 1:2,000,000, covering Morocco, Algeria and Tunisia. Published by LPEE, Casablanca, 2000.

Expert group behind the first seismicity map of Morocco, 1901 to 1989, at 1:2,000,000, published by the Directorate of Land Registry and Topographic Works.

Founding and running of Maghrebi and African bodies for earthquake engineering.

Secretary general of the Maghreb Committee for Earthquake Engineering, of which he is a founding member.

Vice-president of the Moroccan Association for Earthquake Engineering, of which he is a founding member.

Member of the scientific and technical commission of the African Centre for Catastrophic Risks, of which he is a founding member.

Reviewer for national and international journals: seismic hazard, landslides, remote sensing and GIS, environment.

National vice-coordinator for the geological field trips of the 32nd International Geological Congress in Florence, and scientific lead for the field guidebooks covering the four structural domains: Rif, Meseta, Atlas and Anti-Atlas.
